Depends what you want from the fin I guess. I don't like the turbo lag of floppy fins hence the cut but Bryn gets on well with them out of the box so horses for courses.

I think it's what suits you sir!!
For me personally udts work ,I was scared to death with the investment having tried so many fins and sold so many new fins under price to get what was right for me I thought it was duck feet, great for kneeboards and at the time mats until I sorted a pair of udts when it all fell in place udts for mats, ducks for kneeboards but ducks don't work for me mat surfing not sure why, like a lot of people I suffer major back problems plus hamstrings that you could play a tune on which switch from leg to leg ,as I get older it's all about damage limitation, udts long slow hip and leg movement it's a very different sort of paddling to kneeboarding with ducks.

I'm gonna cut my spare pair an inch short.

Good job there James. Why have you ground down the ribs?

For Ian meht, should make them more forgiving on the poor lad's musculo-skeletal system. He made a dog's dinner of fishtailing them so I had to shorten them substantially to remove the damage. That left the ribs too thick so I've tapered them both sides. There's still enough rib to offer structure and 'snap'.

But is there enough to offer pleasure for her?

I'm planning to shorten mine to cut the stress on my knees. I thought about the thicker ribs. I was gonna try a straight chop first.
