This looks a bit of fun and it's my 40th a few days later so this'll do for that too. Here's some blurb:

The First Annual Friction Affliction Spring Convention The Slyder Cup is a different kind of surf event. Bringing together the alternative breed of surfers: bellyboarders, body surfers, paipo riders, handplaners, mat surfers, and alaia riders it is a one-day surf competition that celebrates the art of wavesliding from a ‘finless’ perspective with an emphasis on good vibes, good rides and good times!

The competition is broken into 4 classes: body surf / handplane; paipo / bellyboard; surf matt and alaia with a winner in each. The Grand Final will see the winners go head to head in a surf-off and the 1st Slyder Cup Champion crowned. Watercraft will go though scrutineering to ensure no fins have slipped through the net. Any competitor that falls foul of the rigorous eye of the scrutineer may find their vehicle relegated to the ‘fin bin’.

Showcasing the diversity and creativity that exists in surfing, alongside we’re hosting a ‘Run What You Brung’ expression session where anything goes. If you’ve ever fancied showcasing your waveriding prowess on a door, a tea tray, a sled, now’s your chance…

In this event it not about how hard you can shred the gnar, it’s about the style of your glide, your skill on your slyde and the laying of your lines... The festivities will carry on into evening with a special film screening in association with LS/FF, prize giving plus some epic tunes. Put the date in your diary – 13th April at Lusty Glaze.

More info and registration details here soon: http://www.approachinglines.com/slydercup

or drop us a line: hello@approachinglines.com

See ya'll there then.

Erm... This seems to have taken a turn for the corporate:

Suddenly seems a lot less appealing to me.

As many of us should enter as possible I reckon. An inflatable flashmob. You could walk away with corporate sponsorship G and a chance to revive the fortunes of surf-o-plane.

I think they might be off pickling a pike down at aquarium, mate.
Still, sounds like step in right direction.
Reminds me,Mum lived at Lusty Glaze back in '60s,they had several rat plagues where the rodents would fling themselves willynilly off the cliffs to be pulverised on the rocks below on a full moon.
