Well, it would appear that Phileas has had some waves:

More to come on her stay with Sean William Starky and her adventures in no water at all. [smile]

lets hope starky  got off the peninsula at some point.
wedge is cool and all but its terribly off season and there have been epic waves breaking every day at the winter breaks .

Phileas needs to be up at an epic winter break  for these  swells !

I believe he had some waves elsewhere. I'm awaiting the evidence. Be good to get her up to you, Matt and Stickman too.

The sandbox shot is nuts! Nice thought having the airbag for impact though.

At 2:07 in this video, Gaz was apparently cushioned from the reef by his mat:

Anyhoo, Phileas has been working as a children's entertainer it seems:

phileas got some  long lines today at wiggums.  no photos or video .

i swapped  with kendog for a ride and  right as we swapped a well overhead set came in.
i just had time to let some air out of the valve  turned around and  saw i was fairly deep on the  point as i took off with a big  bowl down the line.

wiggums is an extremely  critical wave for mats not that its steep or gnarly but it really puts a surfmat through its paces. long  magnetic bowls flat fat  sections with more speedlines ahead that you have to cross or be left behind when it hits the inside.   phileas got me to the end bowl kept proper speed through the cut back redirrect and   let me   bend  it down the line for a good speed run on the inside.

for some reason it feels like its more full of air then it is when i ride it at 180   as i was coming across the  inside racetrack i hit a backwash and got  popped 3+ feet in the  air havent felt a good mattress  rodeo since i used to ride my mats at full inflation.

ken and scott had alot more rides then i did i would bet they have some good impressions /feedback for you.

Sounds great hombre. You're getting some amazing waves over there right now!

NEED VIDEO/PHOTOS!!! [biggrin]

The I-beam canting adds a feeling of structure without having structure, giving the hold of higher inflation and the zip of lower inflation together. The same mat with straight up and down I-beams would feel more flopsome.

[smile]

Any more sessions in the pipeline?

Don't forget to add your tat fella.

Phileas is very similar although Cali King is scaled up for Cali Kong and also has a 70d deck.

Can you email me if you get any pics/footage mate?:

Thanks again for taking me along, Mattitude! Classic day, to say the least. It was fun down here during the tail end of the swell, too.

After a little rehab via the open spaces of So Cal, Phileas has got back on track. Great words from Festus Porkmeyer. (Pt 1 of 2)
