We're off to Lanzarote in a couple of days and I fancy taking the Omni.

However none of our cases are long enough to accommodate a rolled up mat.

Is it advisable to fold it, or is that the road to mat damage?

Yup. What Mattitude said. Let it follow the curve around a corner.

Brilliant, my mind is obviously too linear.

Thanks for that fellas, I will remember your sound advice as I slide into my first wave.

Looking forward to slightly warmer temps than the North Sea!

I tend to wrap my mats around my torso, very much like a rudimentary cummerbund,to avoid baggage charges. If you slightly inflate them to approximately magic towel pressure, they subtly inflate during the course of your flight, thereby ensuring you more room fore and aft in the restricted cabin space.
Fins, this years fashion tip,s to insert them lengthwise down the thighs of suitably tailored trousers, this also has the added benefit of preventing the fat git in the next row reclining their seat onto your kneecaps.
For the tonsorally challenged,I suggest folding your wettie into an ad hoc turban or shemagh, which will gain you immediate style points if travelling east.

Where are you going Brock?

Piskian is basically describing being a mat super hero.

We are staying in Famara.

The chart looks pretty small for the days I'll be able to get in.

Still there's always.....'Cerveza por favor'.

Adios.
