Good waves there. I plan a trip soonish.

You need to add grip to that mat. Here's how:

Surfmat Maintenence Topping up Grip:

Same process as in the video but starting from scratch. You don't need to go all the way up the middle and leave a 10" gap at the back of the middle 2 pontoons.

Make sure you cover the back corners. A template like this should do you:

Do it before you put wax on it.

Nice one G. Cheers. I hadn't planned on waxing it - getting wax on the bottom would be less than ideal I imagine, and likely when it's rolled up during transport?

If you're coming over, feel free to give me a shout. I lived out in Sligo for 2.5 years from 2005, and now down in Galway for the past year and a bit. September onward should see some of the good swells moving in. Mid-winter last year I was introduced to a spot out in Mayo - long points, super fast walls, epic.

Righto - I missed the point when I came across this part of your site a few days back. A 'Single-fin Yellow' style voyager... awesome. Yes indeed, I'm in. By the time it gets here I might have some inkling of how to ride these beasties! Jumped on and got in the call to Ireland...

Hi, I'm Brock, 56, from North Yorkshire.

Just bought a 4GF Omni from ebay.

Have been riding the waves of Yorkshire and beyond, on various craft, since I was a nipper.
Still have some surfboards and get wet when I can.

I'm waiting for some fins and socks to arrive before I lose my mat virginity.

Welcome offboard Brock. That's some username you've got there. Solo was Dale Solomonson's global forum and blog handle.

I had no idea, I'm definitely not putting myself in such elevated company.

It was my old C.B. radio handle back in the 70's.

I hope I haven't offended anyone?

Am now trying to find out if I can change my user name!

If anyone knows how or if I can please let me know.
